Gandia Casa Rural – New Spanish site

To say that 2020 has been an unusual year would be the understatement of the century! Having been placed in lock-down here in Spain in the middle of March, things gradually began to ease up until we reached the point in June when we were permitted to open our doors to guests again, albeit on a “restricted numbers” basis. Of course, the situation is not simply that things are now back to normal and holidaymakers can start making their plans again – so much depends on travel regulations of all the countries concerned, not just Spain, but the countries our visitors might be coming from. Such is the constantly changing situation that visitors from overseas are very wary of making any bookings at all in case they are cancelled or changed at the last minute.

However, as soon as the restriction of movement between provinces was lifted here in Spain, we saw a very high volume of enquiries and bookings pour in from Spanish guests who were wanting to secure themselves accommodation for their annual summer break. Ever since this happened we have had an ongoing stream of bookings, and interestingly many from people wanting to book the whole house for a group family holiday. Enquiries for our self-catering apartment have also reflected people’s awareness of social distancing, etc., with many asking about how many other people might be on the property at the same time. In fact, we have decided to rent out only 2 of our 5 B&B rooms at the same time in order to maintain a safe level of distancing between our guests. The only exception to this is when a large family group wants to rent the whole place, in which case these concerns are not so relevant.

Because all of these enquiries were coming from Spanish guests, we felt it would be a perfect time to create a brand new website that focussed on our Spanish clientele. This new site is one that enables guests to make a booking either via a link to our Airbnb listing or direct with us through our own online booking system. Of course we are still looking to secure as many bookings from overseas guests as possible, but with the current situation it has to be sensible to make ourselves known to as many potential Spanish guests as we can.

With this in mind, we would like to invite you to take a look at this new site and of course we would be delighted to hear from you if you would like to make a booking or simply to ask for more information. In any event, we would like to take this opportunity to wish all our guests – both past and future – a very safe and healthy 2020 and we look forward to welcoming you into our home.
